arc youth curling program

ARC Youth Curling will begin on Oct 14 at 10:30am for 17 Saturdays

The ARC Youth Curling program is for kids age 7 to 17, from beginner to advanced, with coaches to suit all abilities. Our coaches are Trained Club Coach level or higher.

We run 16-17 sessions on Saturday mornings from 10:30am to 12:30pm beginning right after Thanksgiving and ending about mid March. We provide brooms and sliders for those who require them. Participants are required to provide: clean indoor shoes (or their own curling shoes), loose fitting athletic pants (no jeans preferred), light jacket over a couple of light layers, gloves or mitts, and maybe a toque or other hat. It can be chilly at the ARC on Saturday mornings. They can also bring their own brooms if they have one.* We also strongly encourage beginner curlers to wear a helmet. While not mandatory through Curling Canada yet, they strongly endorse the use of helmets for kids under 12 or anyone at a higher risk of falling. A bike, ski, skateboard or hockey helmet is adequate.

The fee for the 2023/2024 season is $170.00 for our 2 hour class and $115.00 for the 1 hour.

We are always looking for parents to help out. Cleaning brooms, attendance, helping with

funspiels, on ice or even becoming a coach are very important to our program.

The schedule is: Oct 14, 21, 28, Nov 4, 18, 25, Dec 2, 9, 16, Jan 13, 20, 27, Feb 3, 10, Mar 2, 9, 16.

The fees: 7-10 yrs - 1 hour - $115

11+ yrs - 2 hours - $170
